Personal Profile System and Seasonal Color ID
I couldn’t help but have a "passion for fashion" once I realized how a woman feels when she renews her style with a makeover and in doing so... improves her life. This may sound like an exaggeration, but the truth is... it’s not. Women feel rejuvenated and years younger after they have renewed their style and I can’t help but be blown away by this powerful and amazing process! There is simply something magical when a woman dresses in a more attractive way... regardless of her age, shape or dress size. This became my “Aha” moment that I needed to do something to help as many women as I can feel beautiful. It is why I created the Personal Profile System f or you.
One of the most valuable style lessons I learned was not when I was up-and-coming in the fashion world, but when I walked away from it. After drastically changing my lifestyle to stay at home with my kids, I realized that even though my budget was small (microscopic actually) I still needed a decent wardrobe. I had started to let my appearance lag and was no longer feeling good about myself. This was when I decided to fix my frumpy style and in doing so, I started feeling better about myself.
I started my journey to improved style by systematically purging my closet. I mean, who needs to keep bell-bottoms from high school that are two sizes too small? Doing a closet purge was my first critical step in creating a decent wardrobe. Once my closet was de-cluttered and organized, I then created a main wardrobe plan. By having a written wardrobe plan, it would then be easier for me to budget for an item here or there, instead of waiting until I needed complete overhaul! It was out of necessity that I developed a plan for how to purge a closet and create a basic wardrobe. Even though I actually had less clothes, this wardrobe plan extended my wardrobe possibilities ten-fold. It is amazing and I always feel better when I dress a bit nicer... and I know other women do too!
Years later, I got the style itch again. My husband supported my idea of opening up my own "boutique" and before I knew it, I opening my own retail shop! My boutique days were a wonderful stepping stone to where I am today. On my days off I'd work on my style website to "perfect” the Personal Profile System.
One day my sister, Leanne (aka the Dinner Diva of savingdinner.com) invited me to dinner and I met Marla (the FlyLady) for the first time. She loved my website and offered me the most fabulous opportunity ever - to help all her Flybabies with their style! She was going to "throw me in" and see if I could "swim"! Well, the first day FlyLady mentioned my site; there was so much traffic it crashed! LOL! But now we are swimming along just fine.
I am blessed for the opportunity to show my SYSters (Show Your Style) how they can re-ignite their "style diva" within. With some style basics and loving encouragement, I know women will improve in their appearance and it will reflect every facet of their life!
My original idea to offer affordable and practical style service is now a success! Each week I "demystify" the crazy world of fashion. I spend most weekdays scouring the stores for the best styles (for each body type) searching affordable options and staying current on the latest trends. All this to make MSP the best place on the web for style inspiration. It's all about helping you become the woman you were always meant to be!
