dress/skirt drawback

  1. Hi, I've just read the latest article where MSP recommends wearing dresses in the heat - I agree that they're more flattering but my problem is, to be blunt, sweaty thighs that rub together. Any suggestions??? Love Cheryl

  1. I hate the sweaty thighs thing too! What are we to do? Sometimes I'll wear shapeware that covers the thighs so they don't rub together but then I'm hotter. Dresses do make dressing super easy though.

  2. Body powder. After showering and drying off, pat some on each thigh and go. I went to New Orleans in August a several years ago and only wore skirts and shorts since anything else was brutally hot. Ignored advice to put on some Gold Bond powder on my legs, and a day of walking around the French Quarter in a skirt had my thighs chafed so bad I was bleeding and peeling skin! I used the powder every day for the rest of our vacation and it was the only reason I could still walk. Even in 100% humidity and 90 degree weather, walking all day, it kept me dry.

  3. Pettipants! I bought mine from Amazon. They are lightweight, come in different lengths, and have been working just fine.

  4. As crazy as it sounds, when I am dressing to wear a skirt or dress, after I put deodorant/antiperspirant on my armpits, I coat the insides of my thighs with it. Only in the worst heat have I still had problems; all other times have been surprisingly pleasant.

  5. I use Chafing Powder-Gel (http://www.drugstore.com/monistat-soothing-care-chafing-relief-powder-gel/qxp139254). I tried powder and antiperspirant, but this powder-gel is the best thing I have found so far.

  6. Thanks so much for your helpful answers! Hadn't heard of Gold Bond powder, which doesn't seem to be on sale here in Europe (I'm English living in France); ditto the powder-gel. Ordinary talc, even medicated, is not enough to prevent rubbing, or not for me anyway. I'll have to get some shipped over....

  7. Just found both Gold Bond and the powder-gel on Amazon UK, shipped from the US but only reasonable postage charge so I'll try them out. I saw the "pettipants" but I feel they'd show through lightweight summer dresses. Thank you all again!

  8. I've been wearing pettipants or culotte slips for years ~ even in the winter time! I HATE the feel of my thighs rubbing together, whether hot or cold weather. They actually help keep you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, and they've never shown through a light cotton sundress....never! There is a shorter version and a longer version and then you I u can 'snip it' to your perfect length! http://www.amazon.com/Velrose-Snip-it-Pettipants/dp/B0006IXC8I http://www.amazon.com/Velrose-Snip-it-26-Culotte-Slip/dp/B001II68PY/ref=pd_sbs_a_2 Cheryl
