  1. Join me in posting what you wore lately. Trudence, I thought your Sunday outfit was very slimming.

  1. Hi Helen...late getting on today. Here's my daily dressing - it was freezing here so I paired my denim/fur jacket with a sleeveless turtleneck dress, tights and my favorite black suede boots. Went with a funky hematite/pearl necklace. Sadly the pic does not show the definition of my waist. I swear I really have one under there. Lol!!!

  2. hi Helen, I am enjoying the daily wear posts. I love your necklaces. Where did you get your shrugs? They look so nice on you, not skimpy like some that I have. Cammie

  3. Amy, I think you look warm and cozy and pretty. Kayburge, I get my shrugs on ebay, but nowdays, I mostly make them myself out of sweaters theat I already have that are either too short for my taste or don't have good waist definition or don't fit me quite right. I have one nice shrug from ebay and I use it as a model, just lay it on top of the sweater, cut the sweater the length of the shrug and often, cut the sweater in half in the front with a rounding like the shrug and then hem it with a Z stich on my sewing machine. I'm not a seamstress, just brave. If the original sweater has nice buttons in front, then I keep them and don't follow the contour of the shrug. Hope that helps. I really like light teal with light mauve, so here it is!

  4. Beautiful necklace! I love those colors together too, and they look very nice on you. Did you say once that you're a summer? I am a summer, and the color thing is still a BIG struggle for me, even with the color tips from MSP.

  5. Trudence, I am a summer. I joined in April and I've done a lot of reading on style and coloring. One thing I've discovered is that my best colors are the color of my lips, which is a medium mauve, the color of my eyes, which are blue/green, so teal and aqua, emerald green and all blues, and the colors MSP suggested for eye shadow for eyes that are blue and green, which are chocolate brown and plum. These are my best colors. Also, the color of my hair in my shoes, which is blond, so gold/ or my skin tone. My hair is really light brown/dishwater blonde, but I bleach it with Sun-in and that hides my gray pretty well. So, all this to say... look at the color of your lips, eyes and hair and those are your very best colors, plus the eye shadow colors MSP suggested. Here they are: for blue eyes, wear chocolate brown; for hazel eyes, wear green; for green eyes, wear plum; and for brown eyes, wear mute blues and greens. Also, wearing shoes the color of your hair will often bring an outfit together. Hope that helps. I also wear many other colors, but they are not my best. I wear black even though it's too strong for me, it's just so much a part of our society, I can't give it up. I am a cool season and black is a cool color, so it doesn't clash with my coloring, just overpowers me.

  6. Good afternoon everyone...hope y'all are having a great day. Here's another foray into new waters for me. Leggings, over the knee boots, a basic white long sleeve t-shirt and a black belted sweater. I topped it off with black/white pearls on invisible wire. I have had this sweater forever and figured it was just good to go with jeans on a weekend, but I am kinda liking it now that I have something to pair it with. I went shopping the other night and purchased a basic black, white and a bright pink t-shirt. I already have a white and black in long sleeve. This is kinda fun matching up different things that I have had for quite awhile and was not ready to part with. I'm discovering new purpose for my bargain shopping (I paid $8 for that sweater at a holiday sale a few years ago). I've also been on Pinterest lately and see some great ideas for clothing that match up with what I've learned here. The makeup ideas are also pretty cool. ~Amy

  9. Helen, thank you so much for your little explanation on coloring up there. MSP identified me as a summer, but I was still unable to narrow down which colors I should be shopping for. Your coloring sounds and looks a lot like my own, blue/green eyes, light brown or mousey blond hair (with grey!). This is a big help!

  10. Hello everyone...here's today's foray into winter clothes. Jeans, my Doc Marten combat boots, black/gray/white/brown sweater and a pink v-neck t-shirt. I topped it off with a fun pink/silver/orange necklace. I also tried a new smoky look on the eyes and it seems to be holding up better than my regular make up. Hope everyone has a blessed night and gives their kids an extra hug, kiss or call. ~Amy

  11. I thought the red top and pants matched but in the picture, they don't seem to. Oops. Amy, I like your necklace again! It was so sad about the people killed in Connecticut... I know what you mean about the extra hugs and kisses.... One of the reasons I'm glad I homeschool.
