Hi everyone,
Helen, I am glad you are OK now, where do you live? Somewhere pretty warm, I am guessing, but since the hurricane affected you... Virginia maybe? I loved your last three outfits. I think you rocked the leggings.
That brings me to a question, MSP's shoe article didn't talk about hosiery, maybe that is a whole 'nuther article!?!? I have been wearing trouser socks with my shoes so that I have an unbroken dark color from waistband to toe, is that wrong? Are trouser socks 'out' -- should I be showing skin between my hemline and vamp?
This is what I wore last Friday, jeans are allowed on Fridays. I did finally find two good pairs of bootcut, plus-size, derk-wash jeans at WalMart, this is the lighter, and shorter hem, of the two. The only drawback to them is that there is decoration on the pockets, but otherwise they fit the bill really well -- and of course they were inexpensive! I don't think the color came through very well but the boots are purple suede, and there is purple in the scarf. I was stumped as to what to wear over the tank. I think this crochet cardigan was the best option in my closet, but maybe there is some sort of basic piece that I should be looking for. I'm an autumn, so purple can pull me out of my color palette if I'm not careful with it. Maybe a warm white jacket is what I needed.
BTW, thank you guys for the compliments on my last few outfits. I switched my profile and have been following the new suggestions more closely. Funny, I am finding that they match up pretty well with my gut feelings about what looks good on me! Here is where I will put in a plug for MSP's customer service -- Faith was incredibly kind and helpful to me. Anyways, I think I am looking better now since following my new profile.
And about the house... it has good bones, but it is a big time fixer-upper that we are ever so slowly working on as our budget allows. In the last few months we have had a backed up sewer line, broken washer, black mold to remove from about 20 feet of the kitchen behind the cabinets -- we discovered it when we were replacing the broken dishwasher, and a broken furnace. You really have to have a sense of humor about it sometimes.
No wonder my main source of clothes is thrifting!
