  1. It is a new week! Will you join me in posting what you wore lately?

  1. Very pretty...I love the color near your face with that shirt.

I didn't get a picture of my outfit before church this morning; Sundays are waaay to busy. The church is getting back together this evening, but we're doing a get together at a park, so it will be jeans and a simple shirt for me.
I wouldn't mind knowing (seeing pics) of how others dress up jeans and a t-shirt (or more casual shirt) since, as a stay-at-home mom, that is what I wear the most often. I am getting a little better, and my DH is noticing, but I would like to get a lot better.

  2. The pictures I post are a week old. I take pictures all week and put them on the computer on the weekend, and crop them. I don't wear jeans much right now. I just don't feel happy in them right now. Maybe I will as the weather gets colder.

  4. White pants and red top with 2 different jackets.

  5. Helen, I love that this post keeps returning each week! (BTW, as a summer you look fabulous in red. I like your black and aqua dress too) It is fabulous to see what you wore as well as the other fine ladies that have joined in. KEEP POSTING LADIES! I regret that I have been so busy I have not been able to make it a habit to snap a photo each morning...but I LOVE the idea. It really is a wonderful tool each of us could use to improve our own style!
I did however get a photo recently...so here it is. I'm wearing a light lavender sweater with dark gray ponte knit jeans (NYDJ's) and dark gray suede boots.

  6. Not sure...but for some reason I uploaded 2 of the same photo. Here is the other one :)

  7. hi helen! Sorry I have not been posting all week as I have been terribly busy at work. Here are my comments on your outfits: - Pink dress with black shirt/jacket. I think this is a dress with a shirt over it or a skirt. I like the length on the dress/skirt - I love the boots. The jacket/shirt I think could be better at a different length? I was thinking if it was a couple of inches shorter and at your high hip, it would look nicer? - Black and blue bold print dress - I love this style and length on you. I love it with the long jacket as well! - Red top and khakhi pants - love the red. Looks great on you. I love it with the longer red jacket as well for a more dressy look. I am not so sure about the boots - I was thinking maybe a nice brown might be more suited on the foot? Leslie - you look great as always!

  8. It's always an honor when you join us, Leslie.

  9. HC, I too like you in the red!! I like the shorter jacket. The print dress is a great style for you. MSP, love your lavender top.

  10. Hi everyone, I am finally back! I was so busy with overtime and life in general, but I am working less, getting caught up now, and happy to start participating again.

The only real work I have done on my style has been to work with stretching my dress shoes. One pair came out much better, hooray! I am wearing them today. I was worried that I would never again find comfortable dress shoes.

Today I was playing with layering since the weather is forecast for a high in the 50's. I remembered to start with a white Tee, added a jacket, scarf, and went and found my string of pearls that I had forgotten about, too. (I really need to do a huge jewelry organizing mission!)

I kept my lower half dark and monochromatic and am wearing small gold hoop earrings. I really like how this outfit came out.

    Happy to be back,

  12. Love that mauve color on you Helen!

Dzylicz - you look very smart with that shirt as a jacket and the matching bracelet and sandals - love the complete look!

hi Elaine! I was wondering where you had gone! I like your look today - with the cuffs of the tshirt showing through the jacket!

hi Trudence! I feel like that often about my clothes too - I like it before I take a picture of it! What don't you like about your outfit today? I think it looks nice - a layered casual. I love your jeans - they are just the right style and length for you!

  13. this is what I wore today. I have posted this outfit before. I still find it difficult to shake things up from a style I have done before!

  14. Elaine, Good to see you back!! Like your layers...your eye is drawn to your top half. Your monochromatic scheme makes your legs look nice and long. Trudence, Love your jeans. Cute casual outfit. Samjoy, That's a nice look. Try a metal or light color necklace. My white top is actually a jean jacket! I got it for spring and summer, but it's so hot in Houston I hardly ever wear it. I did MSP's mission for this week except I wore capris instead of a skirt.

  15. Beautiful! Beautiful! I wore the 3rd picture, the dress with the sweater and the scarf, just took the other pictures to show the layers.

  16. Snow here today, I had to scrape my car off before I could leave. I don't know about anyone else but I have a problem with being too hot at my office if I have too many layers on. Usually I can just wear my hair down and be quite a bit warmer ;-) Anyways, I am trying to think about layering with very light things. To that end, I have been playing with wearing more than one necklace. Also, my mockneck that I am wearing under my henley today is sleeveless. However, this morning I noticed that I have only two long-sleeve Tees, which probably isn't enough for wintertime.

I did try putting the mockneck under my Little Brown Dress but that was too tight. Like Helen I have gained a few pounds this fall -- while I was working so many hours I couldn't exercise like I usually do. I have been keeping an eye out for a skirt, a dress, and awesome jeans at the thrift stores but haven't found any of those items yet. I did see a great brown corduroy jacket a few days ago and I might go back and get it. It isn't fitted, it's more of a Bigshirt type of style/cut, but I could belt underneath it. I think I will go give it another look today.

I liked how I did from the waist up today, although a jacket would have been nice on top. BTW, Trudence, I know *exactly* what you mean when you say that you liked the outfit more before you took the picture, LOL!! That happens to me a LOT!

  17. No picture of what I am wearing today. I am teaching a cake decorating class to the kids at our homeschool group this morning, so I am in a black t-shirt and jeans...no extras at all to get in the way. I will a layer it with my jean jacket before I head out the door, and to "dress" it up, I will wear black, heeled ankle books...hmm...maybe I will have one of the boys take a pic right before I head out. Here is what I wore to church last night. I ended up ditching the heels for comfort right before I left, and now, looking at the big pics on my computer, wish I had stayed with the heels. I feel like they really made a difference. Did they? Or is it just me?

  18. Oops, guess I bolded instead of making a line break. I don't get this HTML stuff, but I am trying to learn a little.

  19. These pics show the progression I went through yesterday before heading out to homeschool group. The first, with an apron, is what I taught in, but I felt a lot better walking in through the door in the last.

  20. Trudence, the heels are more slimming in your church outfit, but you look great in the flats too. You looked great in the jeans and t-shirt ( a long necklace would've added a v to it) and the jacket and scarf look so pretty. I missed you, Elaine. Nice to have you back. I'm struggling with trying to figure out how to layer and be comfortable too.
