Are boleros (shrugs) still a thing?

  1. I have a cute sundress with thin straps I recently purchased but I will need a coverup appropriate for visiting churches in Italy (must cover shoulders). I have a scarf/wrap that I can use in the evenings but I'd like something I can also wear back home in the scorching summer heat of Texas. I have some old boleros in my closet but they are much too big since I have lost weight. Basically what I am looking for is a short-sleeve cardi or jacket or other cover for my arm/shoulders but is not as long as a typical cardi or jacket. Any suggestions for something that is not dated, yet is age-appropriate for a mature woman? PS. I know that boleros can be found online- but just because they are sold, doesn't mean one should purchase them! I don't want to buy something only to find out it is out of style. 1. I haven't seen the tiny cardigans at the stores, but I see women still wearing them! I think a bolero would be great over a sundress.

  2. I've seen lots of short sleeved cardigans in the supermarket here (Sainsburys uk), so I expect you would find some when you are shopping locally in the US. Here is the link, just so you can see that they're still fashionable. https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/White-Scallop-Trim-Cardigan/138653320-White?searchTerm=cardigan:newArrivals&searchProduct=
