Q: As summer changes into fall, what's your favorite first go-to pieces you love to start wearing? Mine is boots. I love to start wearing booties when the weather cools. I also like to layer with cardigans. How about you?

I am going North next month, and I hope they forgive me for wishing for cold weather so I can wear my winter white fair isle sweater!

My dark-wash jean jacket and my olive utility vest (originally a jacket, but I cut the sleeves off). Booties too, but mine have died and I need to start the hunt for a new pair, argh.

For fall, I pull out my brown ankle boots and silk leaf-patterned burgundy/gold scarf.
