Our daughter is getting married this summer and I'm so excited, BUT I'm having trouble finding a dress for me. I'm an E body type and I usually wear separates because they are much more flattering to hide my big tummy. It's hard to find dressy separates (and I'm not even sure what to look for) so I'm looking for a dress. The wedding is at church and the reception is daytime OUTSIDE. The temperature could be anywhere from 75 to 90 degrees. I'd like to find something in a "summery " color to the knees since I have decent looking legs and I don't want to be too hot, but I'm not against wearing long (except does that add more bulk to my look?). I've been trying to find something a little flowy that drops from the bust but most aren't dressy enough. Thoughts? Ideas on a style? I wear skirts all the time but this dress thing has me baffled.

You may be able to find separates, however dresses can work well (you might need to buy a size larger, then alter. The large department stores will do it for you for a cost and let you know if it is possible to alter).

For an outdoor wedding in the summer I recommend a short dress vs. a pantsuit or long dress. You are going to be stressed enough, plus the hot weather-don't wear more fabric than necessary-especially since you have nice legs ;)

I'm going to agree with catwomanbert....the lilac one from Dillards is so feminine...yet so forgiving for any woman's body :)
