  1. I gained some weight, don't have resort clothes, and am going on this trip in six weeks. Help! I have no idea what is acceptable. The people we're traveling with are stylish and fun. I'm 70 plus, a C, 5'4" and 195lbs.

  1. You can do this! You'll want casual clothes for daytime (especially if you're going on any day trips) and something dressier for the evenings. Look for lightweight cotton, linen blends (less prone to wrinkling than pure linen), and quick-dry synthetics. For the bottom half, try a maxi skirt, loose flowy pants (palazzo pants), or quick-dry pants from an outdoor lifestyle store. For the top, look for sleeveless shells with wide shoulder straps, or if you're not comfortable with sleeveless, loose fluttery sleeves are very elegant. Or try a knee-length or ankle-length cotton dress. You'll need both casual and dressy sandals, or one pair that can pass for both. If you're going off resort, you may want shorts and comfortable walking shoes. Don't forget a wide-brimmed hat, a light cardigan, and sunscreen!

  2. Agree with Wonderer's suggestions. Light weight tunics would work and don't forget dark glasses.
