Hi, I'm going on a Land & Sea cruise, 24 days, November 2017. Sailing Italy, Spain and Caribbean. Need suggestions on what to pack. Also, don't know how many dress up nights on ship. The climate will be cool in November in Italy and Spain, but warm in the Caribbean. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Think layers. Take one pair of jeans and 2 pair of slacks. Don't take Chico's travel pants, they s-t-r-e-t-c-h in the rain.
I wore a lost of v-neck and other T-shirts, with a shrug in the morning and evening. Tuck shrug in your daybed or back pack during the day. Take an all weather coat for rain and another layer on cool or windy days. For dress-up nights wear dark slacks and a jewel color shirt w/ bright scarf (that folds very flat). Get good waling shoes like Clark's or wear walking shoes - no one is looking at your feet and you will feel better at the end of the day. Black flats for dressy nights. Plan to wash out underwear and socks every few nights- you'll be on a cruise, so you'll have a place for it to dry. Rehear your T-shirts at least once. This will keep your luggage light.

Normally the cruise line will send a list of suggestions about clothes and tell you how many formal evenings there are. Some lines are more formal than others. You can call the cruise line if you want information. Check the temperatures of where you are going. You do not dress up the first night. You probably will have a laundry on the ship and that is a big help as you can't take much luggage on planes unless you want to pay. Take a wide scarf or shrug to wear inside churches. Europeans normally do not wear shorts in cities and are more formal. Crsoins has some excellent suggestions. I would add a swim suit if there is pool on the ship and sandals to wear to and from the pool. A maxi skirt/dress is a good idea especially one that can be dressed up or down. Stick to a mix and match color scheme and take pretty scarves or not expensive jewelry to add a bit of pizazz to your outfits. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses.

Formal night will also depend on the length of your cruise. The 7-day one I went on had two nights. The rest of the nights were a mix of two other types of dressing (think dinner out, and casual). However, attending the formal event is optional; you will have other choices to eat.
Love the suggestions!

How was your cruise? Sounded like a lovely itinerary.

Thank you so much for the wonderful tips for my November 2017 Land/Sea Cruise (24 days) sailing Italy, Spain and Caribbean. I tend to over pack and bring more than needed. Your tips are going to be a great help and I won't be lugging around unnecessary heavy luggage. I'm going to make good use of all your suggestions. Thank you.
