So...I bought a pair of culottes about a week ago. I really liked them in the store and they fit on my bum really well, quite flattering, however, since I got them home I have NO IDEA what to pair them with. They are a navy-ish blue with a belted tie at the waist for a square knot. It's rather a wide sash, maybe 2 inches. They hit me about calf length and with a wedged boot would look really cute. However, I don't have a clue what to wear on the top. I have to be careful since I have a large chest, so I do not want to add bulk up there, also I live in a warm climate, so adding too much fabric is not good. Any thoughts? What would you do?

A top tucked into the waist of the culottes - and a lightweight gilet to break up the chest area? Just a thought...

Ooh, that sounds like fun! I've never tried culottes, but I'd guess you should wear something fitted and classic in style, since culottes are dramatic with lots of fabric--just like what you'd wear with a fuller/longer skirt. Maybe a sleeveless shell, with a fitted/cropped jacket if necessary for warmth. Or a fitted knit top, maybe with stripes. Tuck in if it's long enough. Let us know what you come up with!
