  1. My 40th high school reunion is July 25. Any suggestions as to what to wear? Skinny jeans, for sure. I'm thinking of buying a pair of NYD Jeans. I'm 5' tall and 134 pounds. Eager to hear from y'all!

  1. I forgot to put I'm a type C. :-)

  2. Did the invitation give any dress code? There's an article on wsj.com -"Ace the School Reunion" -which seems like good advice which could be adapted. Good luck!

  3. No dress code. Just the location, time, price, and who's catering. Will definitely check out the article, Natasha. Thanks.

  4. Daytime or evening? What sort of venue is it? Can you tell from the caterer info whether it's fancy or casual? In case you (or anyone else interested) can't find the article mentioned, here's the link: http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052748703789104576273054180897510

  5. I am a huge fan of NYD jeans, so even if you want to wear something else they are a wonderful investment. When in doubt I tend to dress up more. The key here is that you feel really good in your clothes. If you are feeling good you will project out that vibe. I would probably go with a slightly casual dress and comfy wedge sandals. You are going to be on your feet chatting up people so wear something on your feet that you can stand in for long periods of time. Happy Anniversary, 40 years after high school!

  6. I'm thinking it's going to be on the casual side. After all, we're the class '75. I love the idea of the comfy wedge sandals with the jeans. I'm going to get some in a dark wash so they will be on the dressy side. A local Italian restaurant (with a notable wine list) is catering. I did find the article. Thank you for sharing. Went to the local Dillard's looking for the jeans, but they didn't have my size. That's okay. Will wait a bit and go to a bigger Dillard's in Austin. I still have plenty of time.

  7. Hi Debra, do you have navy wedge sandals...or maybe gray?

  8. No navy or gray wedge sandals, but I have nude ones. Will scope out some navy ones. Thanks for the suggestion!

  9. Sounds like a good plan, Debra! You could also wear metallic wedge sandals...or leopard-print if that's your thing (and you're not wearing a pattern on top)...or black or brown. Then add a fancy blouse or shell, and you're most of the way there!

  10. I'd go with the jeans and wedges with a dressy top if I were you. I realise we live in very different parts of the world but speaking from experience these things are casual unless specified otherwise. I went to my 32nd (just worked out there were a lot of people back in town) reunion last year and I was the only woman wearing a dress. I chose a casual style summer dress because the venue was casual but I was still surprised I was the only one. I'll be wearing jeans or pants next time. You can still be dressy with your choice of top, shoes and accessories so you feel good and know you've made an effort for the occasion. Have fun!

  11. All awesome suggestions! I love the idea of metallic wedges, but I might need something a little simpler since I'm pretty sure I'm wearing my CAbi Needle Lace Shell with my navy cami underneath.

  12. That is a gorgeous top. I think metallic wedges would be a great classy balance to that top. Of course I am trying to get out the shoe rut so maybe I am not a good person to talk about that! I can picture that with a nice pair of jeans, you are going to look sooooo awesome!!!

  13. I hadn't heard about CAbi clothes before your posts. That top made me go check them out. There is a lot of nice things there but it doesn't look like we have Canadian consultants, yet!

  14. I agree that metallic wedges would look good with that outfit.

  15. Thanks, everyone. I ordered this one in golden taupe after reading the reviews about it being a "dressier" look. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/munro-abby-slingback-sandal-women/4082049?origin=keywordsearch-personalizedsort&contextualcategoryid=2372949&fashionColor=Red+Nubuck+Leather&resultback=350 Got them on sale, too. I absolutely LOVE Munro but only get them on sale.

  16. That's going to look great, Debra! Your reunion outfit is really coming together. Do you have jewellery/accessories picked out?

  17. Debra, I love your choice of shoes! You're gonna look great! Be sure and post a pic!

  18. Thanks, everyone! Not too worried about jewelry. I make the stuff and have oodles. LOL! I made the earrings in my profile pic. Not sure if you can see them. Here's a bracelet I made today.
