  1. I would like to know if a petite can where maxi skirt or dress?...Leslie often says it makes you look bulkier if your are a c Is there any advice for this question I love the style!!

  1. I'm not petite myself, but my guess is that you could wear a maxi if you make sure it's the right length -- just brushing the top of your foot -- so it looks in proportion to your height. As for C's, generally a fit-and-flare style is more flattering than the "column" shape that most maxis have, but I think you could make it work by choosing a dress with detailing on the top half (to draw attention upwards) or adding a blazer or short jacket to balance out your hips. I've also seen the advice that empire waists are flattering on C's, but in my experience they just make me look pregnant. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

  2. Hi clcraft, I am a petite "C" and find that a fit a flare style is great for a knee length dress but a straight line is best for a maxi, anything with a band a the midriff with gathers seems to call attention to hips and curves -- so I consider the material and think about the flow and movement of the dress, adding a jacket may distort the proportions or the look you are trying to achieve, try a skinny belt in an accent color and move the belt to empire or waistline as you prefer, or try adding a scarf which can be worn like a shawl if needed -- I've found those bolero or shrugs fall at the wrong spot on me, yes, they are short, but not for a petite, check the fit guide for a "C", adding these pieces when ill fitting can add bulk, plus you might want more freedom than a jacket allows... the final word is to wear the appropriate shoe, if you are wearing a nice summer wedge for instance, hitting the top of your foot may be too short -- Yes, we've all seen models wearing ankle pants and stilettos but consider your shape and follow MSP's guidelines, she is right on the spot for me --also, finding a maxi off the rack that is too short on me has never happened, LOL... check out Eddie Bauer, they carry a few Petite Maxi dresses for summer, hope this helps. ;-)
