4-27-20 THIS WEEK: Defining Your Brand

April 27, 2020, 12:26 pm by MSP

Our lives have shifted quite abruptly-whether we like it or not. Either, you are super-busy making one "delectable" meal after the other for the entire family and refereeing kids' arguments, or you are on the other end of the spectrum, feeling alone and isolated. These uncertain times have created drastic changes in our lives. When we support one another, we can say, "No worries, we will endure this". We can help one another not by a physical presence, of course, but with positive, supportive vibes. We need each other.

Our lives are on pause right now, so let's do more than just navel gaze (although that could produce some interesting results). This is a good time for self-reflection. Let's deeply examine our appearance from a "third person" sort of way. What I am I trying to say? Let's define our "brand" that we present to the rest of the world. What do our clothes say about us???

This week: discover your own "brand" of style. How do you describe your style personality? How would others describe your appearance? What is it you desire others know about you from your clothing? By going into a little more depth, you will be able to answer these questions and discover your own true style.

Q: How can we make changes to our outer appearance to express the person we are on the inside?

Get the answers to these questions and more, in this week's article "Defining Your Brand".

Weekly Style Mission

Since this week's style article is about "defining your style". This week: create your very own "Style File". You will need a 3-ring binder and some clear page dividers to get started.

(If you already have a Style File-updated it, set your timer and take 15 minutes to clean out and reorganized it).

A "Style File" is a style control journal where you keep everything fashion/style related. Your Style File can be set up any way you like--but here are a couple of suggestions... Organize it into several sections. In one section, save the weekly MSP Style Articles (from the Personal Profiles) that you wish to keep for future reference. In another section, list outfits you have put together that have worked out well (this will come in handy when you are short on time). Yet in another section, tear out inspiring photos of outfits you love and anything fashion/accessory related that makes you smile.

Having a Style File is a great way to help you define your style. It will help you figure out what styles and colors you like the most. You will see some type of pattern emerging from your clippings or print outs. Use it as a reference to outfit ideas you wish to copy or color combinations you want to try with your own wardrobe. Your Style File will be a collection of all things style related.

Pssst! Don't forget, another fabulous style tool to help improve your style is the "Style Recipes" eBook!

With just 25 basic pieces you can create over 100 stylish outfits. With the "Style Recipes" eBook, you get the complete list of what to have and the template of how to create one stylish look after another!

Create your very own "Style File" this week!

Dear MSP (Leslie)

Wow, this week's (4-23-20) is one of the best style articles. It covered so many things like: 1. CV safety - keep outside shoes for outside, so no tracking in "stuff"; 2. lots of ideas for dressing nicely at home; 3. great hair ideas, especially the fancy de3sign with safety pins; 4. house dress - there could be a lot more styles going on here; and 5. great counseling about being ourselves and coping with stress. Thanks for so many good ideas, Leslie!

Thanks, Sandy
